I'm in my fifth year of playing volleyball, having played all four years of highschool. My first three seasons I made JV, and my senior year I made varsity and we placed fourth at state! I'm currently doing intramural volleyball at the UMN with new friends I've made, and I've been going to the Recwell twice a week for open gyms!
Growing up I was always really into gaming. As a junior in highschool I took this even further when one of my friends asked me if I would join our school's Valorant team if he was able to create one. I became a co-captain for my highschool's Valorant team and we competed in the MNVL (Minnesota Varsity League) which is a highschool Esports league for schools from Minnesota. We made state (an in person tournament at the Mall of America) both of the years that we competed and we went undefeated in our region my senior year.
Stemming from my interest in gaming, I built my first mechanical keyboard as a sophomore in highschool. Since then, I've built two more keyboards, each better than the last. Building keyboards has taught me creativity, and patience. I've learned to be more creative because of the unique ways in which a keyboards sound and feel can be changed, such as placing painters tape or bandaids in certain spots on the keyboard to alter the noise or feel, or to remove noise entirely. I've also had to learn to be patient, as on multiple occasions, I've spent hours trying to make a keyboard sound better, only to put it all back together and realize it still doesn't sound right. Leading to me disassembling and reassembling a keyboard multiple times to make it perfect.
